The myeloma molecular therapy group runs a wide-ranging portfolio of projects including basic cancer biology, biomarker discovery and precision medicine clinical trials programmes. As part of these projects, the laboratory interacts with a diverse range of collaborators, contract research organisations, pharmaceutical companies and funding charities.
The main duties of this post will be to oversee and conduct biomaterial processing and biomarker profiling, including support for high-throughput cell based and other screening activities in line with and in accordance to tissue governance clinical trial regulations. The post holder will report directly to the Team Leader on all Team related scientific and line management responsibility matters. Applicants would be expected to bring tissue governance, as well as biomarker development experience.
The position will be offered initially on a fixed-term contract of 2 years. The full salary scale for the post is £32,000 to £44,400 p.a. inclusive. Starting salary is expected to be £32,000 but relevance of skills and previous experience may be taken into consideration.
