Prospect Research Manager
The Institute of Cancer Research
Chelsea, London (with occasional travel to Sutton, Surrey)
Attractive salary and benefits
The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR), London, is one of the world’s most influential cancer research institutes. We are passionate about our mission to make the discoveries that defeat cancer. Every day, scientists and clinicians are working in our laboratories to make a real impact on cancer patients’ lives.
The ICR has been at the forefront of ground-breaking cancer research for over 100 years. We provided the first convincing evidence that DNA damage is the basic cause of cancer. Today, we lead the world at isolating cancer-related genes and discovering new targeted drugs for personalised cancer treatment.
Our Development Office is responsible for maximising fundraising and philanthropy from major donors and other individual supporters, trusts and foundations, corporates and events. We have a proud track record of performing at a consistently high level year on year.
This is an exciting time to join the ICR. We are in the final stages of a major capital fundraising campaign in order to build a new Centre for Cancer Drug Discovery on our site in Sutton, with less than £10million to raise. Building on our success in recent years, we are now developing ambitious plans to tackle the next big fundraising challenge.
We are seeking a Prospect Research Manager to play a key role in helping our Development Office maximise fundraising potential in order to realise our goals. You will need to deliver high quality and insightful prospect research support, which will enable fundraisers to build relationships with new, high value supporters, pursue other opportunities with new philanthropic partners, grow our network of senior volunteers and increase membership of our high value giving club. You will also need a genuine interest in and willingness to engage with the ICR’s scientific research and a passionate belief in our mission.
If you enjoy working closely with a busy fundraising team and would like to contribute to our future growth and success, please contact our recruitment partners, Richmond Associates.
