The Institute of Cancer Research, London, is one of the world’s most influential cancer research institutes, with an outstanding record of achievement dating back more than 100 years. Our scientists and clinicians are working every day to make a real impact on cancer patients’ lives. We provided the first convincing evidence that DNA damage is the basic cause of cancer, and today lead the world at isolating cancer-related genes and discovering new targeted drugs for personalised cancer treatment.

The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) has charitable status and relies on support from partner organisations, charities, donors and the public. We are committed to attracting, developing and retaining the best minds in the world to join us in our mission – to make the discoveries that defeat cancer.

The Communications Administrator provides essential administrative support to the Communications directorate and its director, and in particular supports the Media Relations team in collating, analysing and disseminating media coverage.

This role is ideal for someone who is looking to start a career in science communication and wants to gain experience of working in a busy press office.

Applications will only be accepted through the ICR recruitment website. When applying, together with your CV, please complete the supporting statement section detailing why you are applying for this post and addressing how you meet the criteria set out in the person specification. Applications without a supporting statement or covering letter will not be considered.

For informal enquiries please contact Ben Kolbington, Head of Media Relations (ben.kolbington@icr.ac.uk). Please note, this email address is for enquiries only and not for applications.

We consider all applications on merit and have a strong commitment to enhancing the diversity of our staff.
