The Institute of Cancer Research, London, is one of the world’s most influential cancer research institutes with an outstanding record of achievement dating back more than 100 years. We provided the first convincing evidence that DNA damage is the basic cause of cancer, laying the foundation for the now universally accepted idea that cancer is a genetic disease. Today, we lead the world at isolating cancer-related genes and discovering new targeted drugs for personalised cancer treatment. Together with our partner The Royal Marsden, we are rated in the top five cancer centres globally.

The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) is committed to attracting, developing and retaining the best minds in the world to join us in our mission – to make the discoveries that defeat cancer.

We are recruiting a Research Accountant to the Research Finance Team to support our research divisions and strategic partnerships in the management of external funds. As part of a high functioning team, this financial assistant role will maintain financial data and will work directly with scientists to provide up to the minute information and reporting to assist with decision making. The role will support the Finance Department to meet it’s internal and external (statutory) responsibilities including achieving value for money and ensuring financial sustainability across the activities of the institute.

The successful candidate will be either training or part-qualified for CCAB qualification. Experience of management accounting in a research grant funding environment and a working knowledge of Agresso are desirable. The salary is expected to be in the range of  £31,000- £34,500. Future progression is based on annual performance review.
